Tribute to the national brewing art

Swiss Beer Day

On Friday, April 28, 2023, Switzerland will celebrate its beer, thousands of years of brewing tradition, beer diversity and the official start of the 2023 beery season!

Every year, on the last Friday in April, Switzerland celebrates its beer. It may not be an official holiday, but it is a day to celebrate. The Swiss brewing industry has undergone an incredible development in the last 15 years. The variety of beers has virtually exploded and the many brewery start-ups have resulted in Switzerland having the largest number of breweries in relation to the population in a global comparison. We can see that we are a beer nation!

In the midst of this dynamic, the Swiss Brewers Association proclaimed Swiss Beer Day for the first time in 2012. Beer culture, which has a history stretching back thousands of years, is consciously perceived and also celebrated in Switzerland.

Open day in various breweries

The point of this day is to pause in the ever faster turning world and to discover as well as enjoy the wonderful variety of beer. For this reason, various breweries of the Swiss Brewery Association will open their doors around April 28, 2023 or will be waiting with various beer-related activities and attractions for the population. Beer and its culture can be experienced!

In addition to the SBC member breweries, many other breweries in all parts of Switzerland are participating in Swiss Beer Day. We cordially invite you all to indulge in beer culture with all your senses. Cheers!
