The national spirits award DistiSuisse has been on the road to success for years. This is proven by the increased number of participants in the past. At the last event, more than 100 companies had a total of 622 spirit samples judged by a jury of experts. This makes DistiSuisse by far the most important spirits award in Switzerland.
With the start of the call for entries, distilleries now have the opportunity to send in their products and have them judged until the beginning of July.
Success thanks to partnerships
Those responsible at DistiSuisse are confident that a high number of samples will be submitted despite Corona. According to Max Kopp, President of DistiSuisse, the industry has been badly affected by the situation. However, many distilleries have used the quiet time to develop new products that they now want to test on the market.
The various partnerships maintained by DistiSuisse give rise to justified hopes of success. First and foremost with Agroscope, which is responsible for the jury management. In addition, each sample is subjected to an analysis at the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS).
Closing event in Lucerne
The highlight of DistiSuisse is the closing event with the award ceremonies. This is probably the most important event in the industry. Anyone who receives an award here has every right to be proud of their achievement.
This year's closing event will take place on 27 October 2021 on the premises of the Swiss Hotel Management School and at the Hotel Montana in Lucerne.
