The BOSG jury of experts nominated a total of 102 innovative Swiss restaurants with a convincing concept. Over a period of two months, these restaurants, bars, cafés and take-aways were then put to the public's vote. Together with the score of the BOSG expert jury, their verdict resulted in the overall ranking.
The best overall rating and thus the crown as Master 2021 and first place in the International category went to the "Sablier Rooftop Restaurant & Bar" at Zurich Airport.
BOSG's verdict on "Sablier": "Sablier at The Circle at Zurich Airport is simply spectacular. If the eye really does eat with you, then you run the risk of being overcrowded as soon as you enter the restaurant. Which would be a shame, because the food and drink are also spectacular. Contemporary French slow cuisine at its finest, irresistible wines and fancy signature cocktails at the golden bar make you absolutely forget the time."
However, the Zurich region not only provides the new Master 2021, but a total of nine other winners in six different categories. Particularly striking this year is the strong performance of the establishments in the canton of Valais. With 4 establishments in the top positions, Zermatt and Naters prove that the legendary hospitality in the canton also has innovative gastronomic concepts.
The remaining winners are distributed among the regions of Bern, Basel, Inner Switzerland, Eastern Switzerland and Grisons, which proves that there are innovative restaurateurs in all parts of Switzerland: Innovative restaurateurs exist in all parts of Switzerland.
