The Karl Wild Hotel Rating with the 75 best winter hotels is published at the start of the winter season. For the overall assessment, Karl Wild and his team, specialists from the hotel and tourism industry as well as frequent travelers, visit all hotels personally. Criteria such as the rating of the most important hotel and restaurant guides, investment activity and guest reviews are also included in the assessment. Only hotels with at least twelve rooms and their own restaurant were considered for the rating.
The Kulm Hotel, St. Moritz has moved up from second place last year to first place in the 5-star hotel category. Second place in this category goes to the Gstaad Palace, and the big climber of the year is the Tschuggen in Arosa. This hotel has moved up from 8th place in the 2022 rating to 3rd place. The reasons for this include a new, dedicated mountain railroad that leads directly to the ski area and major investments in new hotel premises. In the 4-star hotel category, the Walther in Pontresina retains its first place from the previous year, followed by the Maiensässhotel Guarda Val, Lenzerheide and the Wellness & Spa Pirmin Zurbriggen in Saas-Almagell in 3rd place. In the 3-star hotel and lodge category, the Spitzhorn, Saanen-Gstaad remains in 1st place once again and the Chesa Randolina, Sils Baselgia has also retained its 2nd place. The Privà Alpine Lodge in Lenzerheide moved up from 7th place to 3rd place.
