Rebekka Salzmann from Basel wins with her drink "Au Petit Bonheur" and will represent Switzerland at the international final in France next year.
The story had to convince
The best ten finalists from a field of around 30 entries competed with their drinks and stories to show their best side and convince the jury of their talent. In contrast to other competitions, storytelling is a central component of the Rémy Martin Bartender Talent Academy Competition, accounting for 40% of the total score. The individual stories and performances were correspondingly diverse and detailed.
The jury was made up of top-class experts from the Swiss bar scene. In addition to last year's winner Ivan Urech (Atelier Classic Bar Thun), Christian Heiss (Kronenhalle Bar Zurich) and Wolfgang Mayer (Widder Bar Zurich) judged the finalists and the only finalist.
Rebekka Anna Salzmann wins narrowly
It was the only finalist who convinced the jury the most with the drink "Au Petit Bonheur" and her story about a treasure chest full of secrets. Rebekka Salzmann from Angels' Share in Basel won with 52.00 points, ahead of Christos Kostopoulos from the Bar Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois in Basel with 50.60 points and Marc Uthe from the Bellevue Bar in the Bellevue Palace in Bern with 46.60 points. The maximum score was 60 points.
Trip to the Bartender Talent Academy in France
Rebekka Salzmann will represent Switzerland next year at the international final of the Rémy Martin Bartender Talent Academy in France. Due to the current situation, however, it is not entirely clear at the moment when the final can take place.
