"My drink has a message"

Praveen Paul, Barkeeper in the Lakeview Bar & Cigar Lounge, Bürgenstock Hotels, has won in the "Sparkling Cocktail" category with his creation "Pink Dragon". The bartender dedicates his winning drink, which is also an aesthetic work of art, to all courageous women.

Praveen Paul's place of work is fantastic. It is the Lakeview Bar & Cigar Lounge in the Hotel Bürgenstock. Through the window, he can see Lake Lucerne shimmering in deep blue. At the bar, he prepares his refreshing signature cocktails. Praveen Paul talks enthusiastically about his sophisticated place of work in the soho Bar in Basel. The Indian-born man is also radiant in other ways. He has just won first prize in the Sparkling Cocktail category with his creation "Pink Dragon". "I am grateful for all the support that has brought me to where I am today," says Praveen Paul. He names Marie Gerber, Bar Manager of the Bürgenstock Hotel & Resort Lake Lucerne since 2022.

"The best feeling ever"

Brown complexion, casually dressed, a broad smile on his face - Praveen Paul is a charismatic figure. When mixing his cocktail, he immediately captivated the audience. He impressed with his charm and skill. Of course, he also impressed with his cocktail. It consists of sophisticated ingredients such as Fluère unfiltered floral blend of botanicals, homemade lavender-honey-ginger syrup, fresh lemon juice from Zamba, Dragon fruit juice and Rimuss Rosé Sparkling wine. "Winning first prize is the best feeling ever for me." Praveen Paul has been working as Barkeeper since 2013. He learned his trade in renowned bars such as the Daily Club House in Delhi. His job is very varied and he is constantly learning new things. When he talks about his work, his eyes sparkle. You can literally see the satisfied guest at the Hotel Bürgenstock.

"Give women a chance"

Praveen Paul also has another, somewhat more thoughtful side. His winning cocktail has a serious political background. He talks about the oppressed position of women in certain countries. He sees his drink "Pink Dragon", inspired by a Bollywood film, as a tribute to strong and courageous women. "For me, pink stands for harmony and love in life," he says. Women are "very sweet", which is why he added lavender honey to his drink. But women also have a bitter side. "That's why I also put ginger in it, which adds a bit of spiciness. For me, it stands for strength and courage." The message of his drink is: "Give courageous women a chance."
