The deadline for this year's call for applications was May 31. Last year's record number of applications was topped once again. From all over Switzerland, pubs and Barkeeper have entered for the coveted awards, of course hoping to make it onto the longlist for the time being.
The first task for us as organizers was to seriously sift through this large flood of applications and have them reviewed by a neutral jury. This resulted in a longlist in each category. Below you will find the Barkeeper and venues that made it.
The qualifying round for Barkeeper and Barkeeper talents is coming up
In the two categories Barkeeper of the year and Best Barkeeper Talent, the qualifying round will take place on August 28. They will meet at the QN Lounge in Effretikon. Here the 15 Barkeeper will compete against each other. During the qualification a perfect performance is required. These qualifiers then have to present their own creation of a cocktail in front of a special jury. The candidates' technical knowledge and general knowledge will also be tested. The best 3 in each category then qualify for the grand finale at the Award Night on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at the Trafo in Baden.
And so it goes with the other categories
The jury will now take a close look at the venues that have made it onto the longlist and evaluate them according to predefined criteria. The longlist is then used to create the shortlist with the three best in each category, which will be announced on September 8. On Wednesday, October 25, 2023, the winners of the various categories will be announced at the Award Night.
