Grand-St-Bernard liqueur

The elixir of the canons made from Alpine herbs

A well-kept treasure: the Grand-St-Bernard liqueur. Louis Morand, who founded the Distillerie Morand in 1889, was entrusted with the traditional recipe for this liqueur by an Augustinian canon of the Great St. Bernard Hospice.

He wrote it down in a black notebook, which is kept well locked away and is still only accessible to family members. The secret is still kept to this day. But this much can be said: Grand-St-Bernard liqueur is a sophisticated composition of 30 plants, and it is honey that gives it a pleasant sweetness, and the Yellow Grand-St-Bernard owes its golden color to saffron pistils.

Traditional design, rethought
The liqueur, which is firmly anchored in the history of the Hospice of the Great Saint Bernard and that of the distillery in Martigny, is presented in a new bottle for its relaunch.
Its original shape has been retained. However, it bears a new, modern yet classic label, designed by the talented graphic artist Karim Merzoug.

Two variants, two unique taste experiences
The Grand-St-Bernard liqueur is available in two variants with completely different characteristics:

Liqueur Grand-St-Bernard Yellow, 41% by volume
The traditional recipe made from 30 plants, with saffron for the golden color and honey for pleasant sweetness and length on the palate.

Liqueur Grand-St-Bernard Green, 51% by volume
It has a higher alcohol content and, in addition to the 30 plants in the original recipe, contains other plants such as Valais mugwort, which provide an intense, perfectly balanced and pleasantly sweet taste thanks to the honey.
The Grand-St-Bernard liqueur can be enjoyed neat or on ice and is ideal for preparing cocktails based on complex plant flavors.
