Bar Manager, Verre à Monique, Genève

10 Questions for Arthur Brophy

Arthur spent the first years of his life in the British university town of Cambridge before the Brophy family settled in Geneva. He spent his childhood on the banks of the Rhone until he moved back to the UK for his studies (sport and psychology).

While he was working in service and in system gastronomy, he didn't think he would ever want to gain a foothold in the bar world. It was only when, back in Geneva, he came into contact with the world of cocktails at the Verre à Monique and later succeeded to the position of manager, that he got his sleeve tugged.

Working in the bar has helped Arthur, who actually describes himself as shy, to gain more self-confidence and it is easier for him to make contact with people here.

The 10 questions
