Spring course of the BAR NEWS Academy

Brush up on the technical knowledge, learn the tricks of the trade and get to grips with all kinds of spirits that are important in a bar. These are just some of the reasons why eight interested participants took part in the cocktail and bar course in Zurich on 25 April 2021.

Anyone who wants to learn the craft of bartending needs more than a recipe book and two or three YouTube tutorials. Because only those who can stand behind the bar themselves and take the spirits, liqueurs, syrups and juices into their own hands will be able to spoil their guests with exceptional cocktail creations in the future.

For this reason, practical work is one of the cornerstones of the BAR NEWS Academy's cocktail and bar courses. And so the group of eight participants, which was kept small because of the Corona, were able to get hands-on and prepare the most important cocktail classics themselves. It goes without saying that the mixing was followed by the tasting of the cocktails.

Spirits education and tastings

But before the individual cocktails were mixed, the participants learned about the production of alcoholic beverages and the different categories of spirits. But here too, vodka, liqueurs, gin, whisky, rum, tequila as well as fruit and wine spirits can be perceived not only through the ears, but above all through the nose and the palate.
