Feldschlösschen reacted to the pandemic year with flexibility and solidarity. Inevitably, however, the market situation also left its mark on the 2020 annual result.

The company recorded a decline in volume (-14 per cent) and turnover (-18 per cent) for beer and beverages for the past year. In beer sales, the losses were 6 per cent, which is due to the strong anchoring in the gastronomy and event sector.

In contrast, there was a positive development in non-alcoholic beers (13 per cent volume and sales). The Feldschlösschen beer brand was successful in maintaining its market share despite the losses in the catering trade.

The Eve (+24 per cent) and Somersby (+17 per cent, both with significant sales growth) brands also performed well. In addition, the brewery increased sales of craft and speciality beers by 4 per cent.

To support the catering industry, Feldschlösschen employees cleaned hundreds of dispensing systems free of charge. In addition, the company gave away 330,000 litres of concentrated alcohol to help solve the disinfectant shortage in spring 2020.
