Woodford Reserve, produced since 1812 in what is historically the first and also the smallest distillery in America, is the main sponsor of the legendary Kentucky Derby. The horse race takes place annually on the first Saturday in May.
Woodford Reserve dedicates a special limited edition of their Straight Bourbon to each race - the "Derby Edition". The variations of the Derby Edition are bottled at a higher proof and have an alcohol content of 45.2% by volume.
A handmade drawing adorns the bottle label, capturing a defining moment of the Derby. Seen here is the watercolour by Richard Sullivan, a local artist and sports star that will make any collector's heart beat faster.
