Morand and Hugo Reitzel

Liqueur Cornichon

Cornichons are not only consumed with raclette, but in the future they will also be used as an ingredient in a liqueur to flavour the boldest culinary creations.

When the paths of a major distillery and a famous cornichon supplier cross, interesting innovations naturally result. The Swiss companies Morand & Hugo Reitzel have jointly come up with a new liqueur for flavouring food based on cornichon!

This new treat combines traditional savoir-faire with local produce. Connoisseurs with a penchant for a good drop will certainly not say no to this.

And what is the best way to use this new liqueur? Surprisingly in a long drink with tonic. Simply wet your bread with it for the fondue, put two drops on the raclette or marinate vegetables in it - the applications are numerous, according to Thierry Manta, Morand's oenologist.

This amazing drink should not be missing from any future raclette among friends. It is reminiscent of crunchy cornichons and refreshes in the finish with a slightly spicy acidity.

If you still think it's an April Fool's joke, just check out the morand.ch website or ask in the shops of the two brands in Aigle or Martigny, or in the Morand & Friends pop-up in Conthey. Very limited edition.
