As in the previous year, bars from London did particularly well: ten bars from the cocktail metropolis made it into the top 50. If you look at the world's regions with the best bars, you will notice that Asia and Latin America made up places at the expense of North America and Europe.
This year's award for The World's Best Bar goes to Bar Dante in New York. The Italian-style aperitivo bar already achieved a top result last year with ninth place. In 2019, the bar, which opened in 1915 as "Caffe Dante", made it to the top of the podium, taking the place of last year's winner Dandelyan from London.
The successor to the now-closed Dandelyan, Lyaness, made it to 39th place in its first year of existence. The bar team of the Connaught Bar in London, which moved up four places compared to 2018, can be pleased about the second place and the title "Best Bar in Europe" at the same time.
The bar Florería Atlántico, Buenos Aires, Argentina, also made a big leap up the rankings, to 3rd place to be precise. This means that three bars from different continents are among the top 3.
