Matteo Moscatelli qualifies for the final

Swiss Elimination World Class

Thanks to his professional and charming presentation, Matteo Moscatelli was able to prevail over his eight competitors. The Barkeeper from the Widder Bar, Zurich may now participate in the global final from 4 - 8 June 2021.

The Swiss elimination of the World Class Competition organised by Diageo was as demanding as usual. Four challenges had to be mastered with speed, creativity and competence.

Whether it was a cocktail flight with Tanqueray No. Ten, low and no-ABV drinks with Belsazar and Seedlip, a "single ingredient" cocktail with Talisker or a highball with Johnnie Walker: various creations had to be prepared and presented within a few minutes.

The jury - consisting of Markus Blattner from the Old Crow Bar, Zurich, and Thomas Huhn from Les Trois Rois, Basel - assessed creativity, taste and appearance as well as the personal appearance and the story behind the drink. In Matteo Moscatelli's presentation, everything was just right.

"Every single cocktail by Matteo had a great concept and a nice story behind it. The drinks were well thought out, great preparation, perfectly presented and the technical implementation was flawless. Well done!", said the jury.
